.Bogi Pongal is a harvest festival and the first day of the four-day Pongal festival. It is usually celebrated on January 13th or 14th every year. During this festival, people discard old belongings, light bonfires, and make a fresh start, symbolizing new beginnings, prosperity, and the blessings of the Sun God.
A sweet dish called "Bogi Pallu" is also prepared on this day, which is considered a special part of the festival. People celebrate Pongal with great devotion, sharing sweet dishes with each other, and families, relatives, and neighbors all celebrate together.
A significant aspect of "Bogi Pongal" is the tradition of parents placing fruits, coins, and other auspicious items on their children's heads to protect them from evil forces and bestow blessings. The "Pallu," or fruits, hold special significance and symbolize the blessings of the Sun God and a bountiful harvest.
