Significance of Eid-ul-Azha
Eid-ul-Azha(ईद-उल-एज़ाह) is a gazetted holiday in India. Therefore, due to the gazetted holiday, all local, state and national government and private workplaces will be closed on the day of the festival.
Commercial shops owned by Muslims may remain closed or have reduced business hours. Public transport is not disrupted. It is an important Muslim festival celebrated around the world. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as a devotion to Allah. Eid-ul-Azha or Bakrid is one of the most important festivals of the Muslims religion.
