Goddess Katyayani is one of the sixth Navadurga, who is known by the name Mahishamardini. The foremost among Navadurga is mother Katyayani. A form of Goddess Parvati and is worshiped during Navratri. She is also worshiped for the purpose of early and timely marriage of the girl or boy. Katyayani Devi had killed the demon Mahisahasur. Goddess Katyayani is also called Maha Shakti and Mahadurga. It is related to red color.

Astrologers say, when there is Mangal Dosh, Rahu Dosh, Angarak Dosh in the horoscope then by worshiping Mother Katyayani, the negative effects of all these dosh will be removed. If there are any other faults due to which the marriage is getting delayed, then by worshiping or worshiping them, the devotee gets married very quickly.

Worship of Mata Katyayani is desired by those people who have tried many measures to get married, but still do not get any benefit, whether it is a boy or a girl. This puja can also be done in a situation where the horoscopes of the boy and the girl are not matching or there are problems in marital life. Mother Katyayani is the storehouse of all divine power, she is the source of salvation. Whenever the devotee worships her, he/she attains Dharm, Arth, Kaam and Moksh in all aspects.
