Chhath Puja Celebrations
Chhath Puja, an important festival in North India, especially Bihar, Jharkhand and Purvanchal, is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Chhath Puja lasts for four days, during this festival devotees worship Sun God.
Due to this occasion, there will be holidays in banks, offices, schools and colleges and educational institutions in many states. As a result, banks and other offices, institutions in places like Bihar, Delhi, Jharkhand and West Bengal remained closed for four consecutive days, due to which most of the people participate in this festival.
Chhat Puja a Series of Festival
Chhat puja is basically a series of festival, it's a completely four days festival.
Day 1: Nahay-Khay
on the first day devotee taking a holy dip in a sacred river, cleaning the house, and eating a very satvik meal made with pumpkin, rice, and lentils.Day 2: Kharna
On the second day, devotee is basically observe a day-long fast without drinking water, breaking the fast in the evening by preparing a type of special kheer called rice pudding and fruits then distributing those as prasad in the children and neighbours.Day 3: Sanjhiya Arghya
On the third day, standing on the banks of a river or pond in the evening and offering prayers to the setting sun, singing folk songs, and performing with the Kosi ritual.Day 4: Udayachal Arghya
On the last day, going to the riverbank before sunrise and offering prayers to the rising sun, breaking the fast and ending the vrat, and distributing prasad.When Will Chhath Puja be held in 2026?
