Apology Mantra for Any Gods or Goddesses
The rules for worshiping all the Gods and Goddesses are explained in the Hindu scriptures. But still, we commit some kind of mistake in worship whether it is known or unknown. Just as the mantras for prayer, bathing, meditation and even offering food have been mentioned in the scriptures, similarly the mantra for seeking forgiveness has also been mentioned. Through this we seek forgiveness from God for the mistakes and omissions committed in worship.
Benefits of Reciting Apology Mantra
Be it worship or our life, the feeling of forgiveness is considered the greatest feeling. The apology sought during puja should also be for the mistakes committed in our daily life. When we ask God for forgiveness for our mistakes, then the worship is considered complete. Besides that, native's ego goes away by the reciting of apology mantra.
The mantra is very simple and anybody can recite and the “Apologize Mantra” will be like following:
Mostly, this is a simple mantra for Kahsma Yachanam that can be recited after the end of the puja. It is required whatever puja you have done. This apology mantra is for any Male Gods like Shiva, all Vishnu Avatars, Hanuman, Bhairav and so on.
॥ अथः मंत्र ॥
आवाहनं न जानामि न जानामि विसर्जनम्।
पूजां चैव न जानामि क्षमस्व परमेश्वर ॥
मंत्रहीनं क्रियाहीनं भक्तिहीनं सुरेश्वरः।
यत्पूजितं मया देव परिपूर्ण तदस्तु मे ॥
यद्क्षरं पदभ्रष्टम मात्रा हीनं च यद् भवेत्।
तत्सर्वं क्षमतं देव प्रसीद परमेश्वरः ॥
ओम श्री महादेव: क्षमा यचनाम् समर्पयामि
Whereas, this apology mantra can be recited for any Goddesses like Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Tara and so on. The mantra will be like following:
॥ अथः मंत्र ॥

मंत्रहीनं क्रियाहीनं भक्तिहीनं सुरेश्वरीः।

In reality, the apology mantra is very difficult and challenging to recite. Ordinary people cannot read or memorize it. Only priests, Brahmins, or temple officiants can chant such long mantras because they recite them daily, and therefore, these mantras are already memorized and stored in their minds. Here is another beautiful apology mantra mentioned in the Shri Durga Saptashati Maha Purana:
देव्पराधक्षमापनस्तोत्रम्
॥ अथः मंत्र ॥
