Significance of Ganesh Dhyan Mantra
Shri Ganesh is known as “Vighneshwar (विघ्नेश्वर)” or “Vighna Hartha (विघ्न हर्ता)” he removed all the obstacle hindrance in the person’s life. According to “Maharishi Panini”, the group of masters of directions i.e. “Ashtavasu (अष्टवसु)” is called Gana. Being the lord of Ganas, it is necessary to worship Lord Ganesha first then others.
Lord Ganesha is worshiped before every auspicious work and worship of Gods and Goddesses, mantra japa, and anshthan. Therefore, Shri Ganesh is also called the first respected one than other devas. The reasons for Lord Ganesha being worshiped first in the scriptures are different, but all the scriptures have called him the first worshiped god.
Some Sanatan “Puran and Upanishads said, Ganesha is the first god and the god of intelligence. Before starting any work, we need better planning, visionary decisions, and efficient leadership that’s why Lord Ganesh is first.
According to the story of “Shiva Mahapuran (शिव महापुराण)”, when there was a war between Lord Shiva and Ganesha. Shiva cuts off Ganesha's head, when mother goddess “Parvati” she was going to destroy the universe. In the meantime, Lord Bramha, Vishu and other devas prayed her no to do that. Lord Brahma attached the head of an elephant to Ganesha's body and granted him immortality.
Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswar and other devas, all are blessed him and Brahma ji said Ganesh is special now. As per the specialty, he would be worshiped before all the gods and goddesses in every auspicious work otherwise puja will not be fruitful.
Since then, without Lord Ganesh’s puja, every puja and anusthan will be considered incomplete. Since then, his puja always has been doing in every puja, anushtan or mantra japa before. Mantra is like following:
