Significance of Gauri Pujan

Goddess Gauri, she is the mother of Lord Ganesh. People worship Ganesh with mother Gauri before following any rituals. According to Sanatan Shastra, it is required worship Gauri-Ganesh first before doing Puja, Havan, Yagya, Siddhi, Mantra Japa etc. Ganesh who is removed the obstacles and hurdles, he has the supreme minded very clever than all gods.

Whereas mother Gauri is called “Parvati” she is represent as “Maha Shakti(महाशक्ति)” or to have supreme power.

It is the best practice of Gauri Mantra to recite along with Ganesh Mantra, it is said that people can get prosperity and blessings from both by Ganesh as well as mother Gauri.

If you see Agni Purana, Shiva Purana, Gauri puja also is an important part of Ganesh pujan. Mother Gauri’s mantra will be like following:

Gauri Mantra for Dhyan

॥ अथः मंत्र ॥

नमो देव्यै महादेव्यै शिवायै सततं नमः।
नमः प्रकृत्यै भद्रायै नियताः प्रणताः स्म ताम्।।
श्री गणेश अंबिकाभ्यां नमः, ध्यानं समर्पयामि।

Or this is another simple and powerful mantra collected from Sri Durga Saptasati Purana, you can chant this mantra at the time of Gauri-Ganesh dhyanam and pujan.

॥ अथः मंत्र ॥

सर्व मंगल मांगल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थ साधिके।
शरण्ये त्र्यंबके गौरी नारायणी नमोस्तुते।।
श्री गणेश अंबिकाभ्यां नमः, ध्यानं समर्पयामि।
