Significance of Panchdeva

In Sanatan Dharma, before undertaking any new endeavor, the deities are invoked and worshipped. Every auspicious ceremony begins with the worship of the five principal deities called Panchadeva. These five deities are invoked through mantras.

After offering water for purification called "Achaman", they are worshipped using the Panchopachara method termed as five-fold ritual.

Worshipping these five deities before auspicious occasions ensures that all tasks are completed without any obstacles or difficulties. Let's learn more about these five deities.

Name of Panchdevas

As per our Sanatan Mythology Holy Purans, before doing any anusthan and puja, the names of five gods should be taken and worshiped which is called “Panchdeva” as already told you. The Panchdevas are such as “Surya”, “Ganesha”, “Durga”, “Shiva”, and “Vishnu”.

Who Introduce Panchdeva?

These fives gods and goddesses are the main supreme gods in the universe as per introduced by Adi Sankaracharya. Also, some devotees are worship all these five gods in the name of “Panchopasak(पंचोपासक)”. Panch devtas are manifestations of Brahman who are unthinkable, unmanifested and unlimited.

Supreme Power of Panchdeva

Panch Devas are have the unique supreme power such as:

1) Sun: The Process of Creator,

2) Ganesh: The Unveiler

3) Durga: The Veiler,

4) Shiva: The Destroyer,

5) Vishnu: Who is Preserver,

In these five gods are particularly most of the people worship them as Panch Deva in northern part of India. They all are must be remembered and worshiped in all works. Panchdevas mantra would like following:

॥ अथः मंत्र ॥

आदित्यं गणनां च देवी रुद्रं च केशवम्।
पंचदैवत्यम्ययुक्तं सर्वकर्मसु पूजयेत् ||
