Who is U SoSo Tham?
U SoSo Tham is a great poet. He was a legend in Meghalaya state. Meghalaya government declared as holiday on the Death Anniversary of U Soso Tham as a regional holiday in the northeastern Indian state of Meghalaya on December 18th every year. So, after the declaration by the government official, they celebrate U SoSo Tham Jayanthi every year.
U Soso Tham was a Great Poet in Khasi Language
U Soso Tham was a great poet in Meghalaya especially he wrote many books in Khasi language. His contributions towards the Khasi language are unlimited. He wrote many literature books in Khasi language. He died in 1970. Since then, till date now the government officials celebrate as a state holiday as U Soso Tham Anniversary.

U SoSo Tham was a great scholar, he holds the distinction of being the first poet to introduce secular literature with a unique and authentic expression.
