The Significance of Tulsi Vivah(तुलसी विवाह)
Kartik month is considered very auspicious to please Tulsi Mother. This auspicious day marks the union of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Tulsi. According to religious beliefs, on this day people observe strict fasts and worship with utmost enthusiasm and devotion. It is said that worshiping Tulsi brings happiness and peace. Besides, Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, resides in the house forever. According to the Hindu calendar, this great festival is celebrated in the month of November, so let us know what is Tulsi Vivah.
Tulsi Vivah Vrat Katha
According to Sanatan Vedic Scriptures, once upon a time the gods were troubled by a demon named Jalandhar. All Devatas are approached Lord Vishnu and informed him about all their problems. The solution to this was that if it can be proved that Jalandhar's wife Vrinda is not a “Sati”, then Jalandhar could be easily destroyed. To break Vrinda's vow to marry, Narayan took the form of Jalandhar and touched Vrinda, due to which Vrinda's vow to marry was broken and all the powers of Jalandhar got weakened, then Lord Shiva killed that demon later on.
Tulsi Vivah is a Formal Marriage Ceremony performed by the followers of Hindu religion in which a plant called Tulsi is married to Shaligram or Vishnu idols or his incarnation Krishna. In Hindu religion, it is considered as the end of monsoon and a suitable time for marriage.
