About Sita Navami 2025

When is Sita Navami (सीता नवमी) Celebrated?

Sita Navami is celebrated in Sanatan Dharma on the ninth date of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. Ram Navami and Sita Navami are considered one of the most auspicious festivals in Sanatan Dharma. This day has a great religious significance of Sanatan Dharma. Do you know that Sita Navami is coming this month? Very few people know about when Sita Navami is and why it is celebrated.

Mata Sita is an Incarnation of Lakshmi

Mother Sita is counted “Maha Sati (महा सती)” among those “Panch Sati (पंच सती)” in mythology. She is not only supported her husband in every difficulty but also protected her character and honour in difficult times. It was because of her glory that’s why people taken her name before Lord Rama as “Sita Ram”.

Actually, Mother Sita is the incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Rama is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Jadamba Sita, the mother of the world, she is absolutely Lakshmi. Because Hanuman ji had given him the boon of “Ashta Siddhi and Nine Nidhis(अष्ट सिद्धि और नौ निधियाँ)” Hanuman ji got more powerful after that.

However, just as many auspicious occasions are dedicated to Lord Rama, similarly a special day is dedicated to Mother Sita and that day is celebrated like a festival and that is Sita Navami. All Hindus celebrate the birthday of Lord Ram as the festival of Ram Navami. Similarly, Mother Sita's birthday is celebrated as Sita Navami. All the Sanatanis’ have seen it according to their values.
