About Thai Pongal 2025
The second day of Pongal is known as Thai Pongal. There is a tradition to worship Sun God on this day. On this day, a special kind of kheer is made to express gratitude to the Sun God for the good harvest. For this reason, it is called Pongal Kheer.
Thai Pongal, is a part of multi-day Hindu harvest festival celebrated by Teglus, Tamils and Malayalis. It is observed in the month of Thai according to the Tamil solar calendar and usually falls on 14 or 15 January every year.
